On 6 July 2016, the Ethos Institute for Public Christianity, in collaboration with seven theological seminaries, conducted a day-conference on ‘Human Sexuality, Marriage and the Church’ at the St Andrew’s Cathedral. This is the first time that so many seminaries and Bible colleges in Singapore have worked together to organise a conference for the Christian community.
New students at TTC gathered for a two-day Orientation which started on 4 July. They learned about the history and ethos of the college, familiarised themselves around campus and experienced community life, as well as made new friends.
It took months in the making, and the eagerly anticipated gathering to happen. On June 25, 2016, the Class of 2006 came together for a class reunion, and aptly so, at the very place where it all started i.e. Trinity Theological College.
Simon Chan spent two weeks (23 May to 3 June) teaching an intensive course “An Introduction to the Theology and Practice of Worship” to a group of thirty eager M.Min. students at the Institute of Bible and Theology. These are pastors specially selected by the leadership of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) to undergo enhanced training for future leadership.
From May 23 to June 3 of this year, Dr Jeffrey Truscott taught a course on sacramental theology at East China Theological Seminary, near Shanghai. Based on his book, The Sacraments: A Practical Guide (Christian World Imprints, 2016), the lectures covered the history, theology, and practice of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
