Postgraduate studies have been offered at Trinity Theological College since 1966. Initially, advanced degree programmes were conducted under the umbrella of the Southeast Asia Graduate School of Theology (SEAGST), a consortium set up by the Association for Theological Education in South East Asia (ATESEA).
In 1993, Trinity set up its own Graduate School which grew by leaps and bounds, and the need for a restructuring became increasingly evident. With the move of the college in July 2001 to her current campus, it was deemed appropriate that the name be changed to the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPS) to coincide with this new phase in the history of the College.
The SPS offers Master of Ministry (MMin), Master of Theology (MTh), Master of Letters (MLitt) and Doctor of Theology (DTh) degrees. The latter two are research degrees. All these degrees are taught or supervised either in English or Chinese.
