Forgiven and Forgiving
Lenten Spiritual Retreat
SYNOPSIS
Lent is a unique time to reflect on our redemption in Christ Jesus our Saviour and Lord. Then and now, the church guides its members through the classical disciplines of repentance, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving in anticipation of Easter.
In this retreat, we will focus especially on the blessing of being forgiven, which leads to the grace of forgiving others. Many Christians do not seem to experience the depths and reality of being forgiven. As an outcome, they continue to live in guilt (from which our Saviour has delivered us) and are unable to forgive others (on which our Lord has instructed us just as we have been forgiven).
This Lent, we pause to ponder, to pray, and to receive from our Redeemer Lord once more, the grace to forgive even as we have been forgiven.
