Rev Dr Maggie Low invited by the SCAC to teach a homiletics course

Rev Dr Maggie Low was invited by the Sarawak Chinese Annual Conference (SCAC) of the The Methodist Church in Malaysia to teach a homiletics course for their English Local Preacher Course. This was held over a weekend in Jun 2025 in Kuching. Fifteen people attended, with seven candidates in the process of licensing, and the rest back for a refresher. Here are some feedback from the participants:

“After attending the weekend class and then reading your book (Preaching that Comes Alive), I appreciate what you have done for us. It gives me a structure to work on and now I can analyse and understand how pastors present their sermons in our local church and thus to learn from them.”

“I really enjoyed your class. So many of us felt that all the local preachers whether licensed or in process of licensing should have attended it.”

The Methodists in Sarawak are following God’s missions in establishing and multiplying congregations within the English Division of the SCAC. Pastors and lay preachers seriously and enthusiastically studied this and other theological courses to equip themselves to be workmen who are unashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
