Dr Leonard Wee conducts training for ATESEA

ATESEA Methodology Seminar
9-16 July 2017
The Church of Christ in Thailand
Chiang Mai, Thailand

Rev Dr Leonard Wee conducted a training session on Methods of Intertextuality at the ATESEA Methodology Seminar on 11 July 2017. This seminar is aimed at equipping the doctoral students in the various ATESEA theological schools with the skills and in-depth knowledge that would facilitate their own research in the various disciplines. About 24 participants were at the event, including members of the ATESEA Senate who were also having their Senate meetings concurrently.

The session on intertextuality examines the latest approaches undertaken by scholars in the study of relationships among texts. This methodology is then broadened to include examining the ‘intertextuality’ between Bible and social ‘texts’. This would pave the way for understanding the two-way, dialogical relationships that are present in the discourse between Christianity and culture.

Note: TTC joined 15 other seminaries in 1957 to establish ATESEA – the Association for Theological Education in South East Asia.
