John Calvin on Prayer
Spiritual Retreat

SYNOPSIS

While many regard the Protestant Reformer John Calvin as a great theologian, few know him as a pastor and teacher of prayer. Calvin described prayer as “the chief exercise of faith”, the practice of which deepens our communion with God. His theology was consistently expressed through his piety. At this retreat, we will explore key features of Calvin’s teaching on prayer and also practise them as part our time together.

Calvin’s teaching on prayer will be elaborated through four guided meditations, the practice of which will be supported by spiritual guides. Notes will be provided, along with ample time for meditation and contemplation in prayer.

Come and learn from this prayerful theologian.
