This brief survey of the history of the church will look at the explosion of Christianity throughout the world from the time of the Apostles to current efforts to make the Gospel known to all the world. We will breeze through 2000 years of history in 7 sessions. This survey will take us through not only the history of the church in the West but also in the East. We will see how our Christian brothers and sisters struggled with the same kinds of problems we do today, how they interacted with different cultures and other religions, how they fought with each other, how they grew into three traditions (Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant), and how they sought continually to expand the Lord\u2019s Kingdom.<\/p>\n
Rev Dr Chiang Ming Shun teaches Methodism and History of Global Christianity at Trinity Theological College. He has a PhD from Cambridge and is fond of reading all sorts of histories, military history included. He is an ordained minister with the Trinity Annual Conference (TRAC) of The Methodist Church in Singapore and has served as a pastor in two churches and as chaplain in two schools. He has been a pastor since 2000 and is currently attached to Toa Payoh Methodist Church. Ming Shun enjoys both reading and gaming, and has been very happily married to Po Lin since 1998.<\/p>\n
