Applying for Leave of Absence (LOA) and Leave of Disruption (LOD)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Leave of Absence<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. As highlighted in the General Policy of Class Attendance, enrolling into a programme requires commitment. However, there may be legitimate circumstances under which students need to apply for a leave of absence (LOA).<\/li>\n
  2. Procedures for LOA applications are as follows:\n
      \n
    1. In foreseeable situations, applications for LOA should reach the Academic Dean\u2019s Office (ADO) through email (academicdean@ttc.edu.sg<\/a>) at least five working days before the intended start date of leave.<\/li>\n
    2. Students who need to apply LOA due to unforeseeable or emergency situations can apply LOA retrospectively. Such LOA applications must be submitted to ADO through email no later than 5 working days after the last date of absence.<\/li>\n
    3. All LOA applications must be copied to the relevant lecturers concerned and have the required supporting documents attached.<\/li>\n
    4. If a church\/organisation affair is stated as reason for the need to be absent from class, an official endorsement from the church\/organisation is required as a supporting document.<\/li>\n
    5. Only LOA applications that are copied to the relevant lecturers and have the required supporting documents attached will be processed and replied to<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    6. Students on LOA may make their own arrangements with fellow classmates to collect lecture notes and\/or record lectures. Please note that students who plan to record lectures are to seek prior permission from their lecturers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Leave of Disruption<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. It is the responsibility of every enrolled student to ensure that his or her study will be completed without disruption.<\/li>\n
      2. A student is allowed to apply for a Leave of Disruption (LOD) if serious and unavoidable circumstances beyond the student\u2019s control have caused or are expected to cause disruption to his or her on-campus study for a prolonged period.<\/li>\n
      3. Procedures for LOD applications are as follows:\n
          \n
        1. LOD applications must be submitted to the ADO through email.<\/li>\n
        2. All LOD applications must be copied to the sending church and\/or sponsor, if applicable, have the required supporting documents attached.<\/li>\n
        3. Students may only apply for LOD for the upcoming semester. No retrospective application of LOD for the current semester will be accepted. Applications for LOD for the upcoming semester should be submitted\u00a0two<\/strong>\u00a0months before the end of the current semester (except in extenuating circumstances as decided by the ADO).<\/li>\n
        4. Students who wish to go on LOD for an extended period of time (more than one semester) will need to apply on a semester-by-semester basis.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
        5. Once approved, the duration of disruption will not be counted towards the period of study.<\/li>\n
        6. The maximum limit that a student can apply for LOD is\u00a0six<\/strong>\u00a0semesters (cumulative).<\/li>\n
        7. An advanced-degree student who plans to submit the dissertation immediately after resuming study will still be required to pay the full amount of the tuition fee.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
