SYNOPSIS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lent is a unique time to reflect on our redemption in Christ Jesus our Saviour and Lord. Then and now, the church guides its members through the classical disciplines of repentance, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving in anticipation of Easter.<\/p>\n

In this retreat, we will focus especially on the blessing of being forgiven, which leads to the grace of forgiving others. Many Christians do not seem to experience the depths and reality of being forgiven. As an outcome, they continue to live in guilt (from which our Saviour has delivered us) and are unable to forgive others (on which our Lord has instructed us just as we have been forgiven).<\/p>\n

This Lent, we pause to ponder, to pray, and to receive from our Redeemer Lord once more, the grace to forgive even as we have been forgiven.<\/p>\n

Rev Dr Jimmy Tan<\/strong> has been leading retreats at TTC since 2015. He is an ordained minister in The Presbyterian Church in Singapore, a lecturer of pastoral and practical theology at TTC, and the author of How then shall we guide?: A comparative study of Ignatius of Loyola and John Calvin as spiritual guides<\/em>. He regularly offers pastoral guidance to students and pastors, and assists our college to retrieve spiritual resources from our Reformed and evangelical traditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

SYNOPSIS<\/strong><\/p>\n

This soul care retreat for Lent 2025 invites participants into a journey of self-examination, renewal, and deepening of their life in God. Rooted in the theme of journeying through wilderness seasons toward the Cross, this retreat will explore what it means to hear God\u2019s voice amidst desolation, doubt, and the pressures of daily life. Through guided reflection, prayer, and shared fellowship, participants will have space to examine their life direction, confront personal and spiritual challenges, and be drawn toward Christ\u2019s redemptive work. As we move closer to the heart of the Lenten season, we\u2019ll also reflect on our own call to humility, grace, and the redeeming cross of Christ.<\/p>\n

<\/b>Identifying and embracing our wilderness experiences, recognising where God calls us to be still and listen.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on moments of competing voices, seeking to hear God\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n

The Journey to the Cross<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Encountering Christ\u2019s journey and our own through confession, release, and a deepened faith in God\u2019s grace.<\/p>\n

Designed for those seeking renewal, this retreat promises time for quiet solitude, personal reflection, and spiritual guidance\u2014preparing hearts to encounter the redemptive love of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
