Rev Dr Maggie Low attended the Women in Leadership Roundtable organized by CWM (Council for World Mission) and WCRC (World Communion of Reformed Churches). It was held in Seoul from 4 to 6 Oct and attended by about 30 women from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Pacific Islands, Europe, Middle East, and North and South Americas. For the first time, both the CWM Moderator and the WCRC President are women from the Global South. Wanting to support emerging and established women leaders in the cause of gender justice, this roundtable was a time of mutual sharing to honour our mothers, lament with our sisters, and rejoice with our daughters. This meant reflecting on the legacy of women pioneers, lamenting the patriarchal and abusive obstacles not only outside but also within the church, and rejoicing in the hope that God is at work in and through the next generation. Dr Maggie led a session on the lament psalms, which many found helpful in processing personal and communal pains.<\/p>\n
