Where is your Spirit, when the noonday demon snared?

I peered into flooded eyes, but saw emptiness.
\nI searched, but found darkness.<\/p>\n
How long, O God, must I wait for your rescue?
\nCome quickly, my lamp is fading!<\/p>\n
What did she do that you sent the destruction?
\nWhat is worthy of such pain?<\/p>\n
Banish the demon,
\nlet it torment no more!<\/p>\n
Hear our cries, for you are her Maker and Father,
\nSave us, for we are helpless.<\/p>\n
Surely, you hold us when we can\u2019t hold on anymore,
