Jacob Cogman, a second year Master of Divinity student from the Candler School of Theology, Emory University in Atlanta, joined us as an exchange student for the Spring semester (Jan-May). For this short interview, he was challenged to use haiku, a style of Japanese poetry that features three lines of words that follow a 5-7-5 syllable pattern to answer the following questions:<\/p>\n
1. How did you end up across the globe, in TTC?<\/strong><\/p>\n To listen and learn \/ The Lord led me to this place \/ To study and grow 2. What has been your experience so far, being in TTC? What sort of memories will you take back with you?<\/strong><\/p>\n Hospitality \/ Community at the core \/ Intentionally 3. What do you think of Singapore?<\/strong><\/p>\n Great public transport \/ So many places to shop \/ A great melting pot<\/p>\n 4. Last question! What are your plans after you graduate?<\/strong><\/p>\n I don\u2019t know. Like many students at TTC, I am still discerning. My prayer is that God will continue to lead me and guide me as I journey through seminary. \nAlthough Jacob grew up non-denominational, having attended a chapel at an army base that was run by both Pentecostal and Baptist clergy, he is currently a member of the United Methodist Church. Not only is he an avid consumer of opera and musicals, he is also a Double Dutch enthusiast.<\/p>\n
