Entrance and Application Requirements
a.
Bachelor¡¯s degree from an accredited college or university
b.
A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in
a previous degree programme. This capacity may also be indicated
by an average of ¡°B¡± in pertinent subjects.
c.
Transcripts for all academic study beyond secondary school
showing high academic performance
d.
Reference letters from two sources ¨C local church or its
equivalent, and faculty of previous institutions of learning
attesting to
1)
Candidate¡¯s suitability for leadership in worship and music
ministry
2)
Academic (and musical) ability to undertake a course of
study at the graduate level
e.
English Proficiency ¨C TOEFL 550 (paper) or 213 (computer)
f.
For MTS Liturgy and Worship specifically,
an audition tape of leadership in worship (worship leading or
preaching)
g.
For MTS Church Music specifically:
1)
Audition or Video Tape of Performance (3 contrasting works)
2)
Music Theory Placement Examination. Remedial course
required if candidates do not pass the placement test.
3)
Music History Placement Examination. Remedial course
required if candidates do not pass the placement test.

Curriculum
a.
A total of 65 credit hours are required for graduation.
b.
A core Master of Theological Studies course (for both
tracks) are:
1)
Old Testament 1 and 2
2)
New Testament 1 and 2
3)
Theology 1 and 2
4)
Introduction to Biblical Interpretation
c.
Students in MTS Worship and Liturgy track will also take
MTS core subjects Church History 1 and 2.
d.
Students in MTS Church Music will take ¡°Church Music
History 1¡± and ¡°Church Music History 2¡± instead of MTS Church
History 1 and 2.
e.
The remaining MTS Worship and Liturgy curriculum consists
of:

To graduate, candidates are expected to maintain an average
of C (GPA 2.0)

The programme is to be completed in two years of full-time
study.
i.
Part-time candidates have up to six years to complete the
programme.
j.
Candidates are regarded as students of Trinity Theological
College and the Methodist School of Music. They shall have full
access to the resources available in both institutions and are
expected to contribute to the life and activities of both
institutions as and when possible.

Fee Structures
a.
Lectures will cost $110 per credit hour.
b.
Total tuition fee for MTS Worship and Liturgy track will be
$7,450 for 4 semesters ($110 x 65 + $300 for 1 applied
course fee)
c.
Total tuition fee for the MTS Church Music Track is
$8,650 ($110 x 65 + $300 x 5 applied courses)
d.
There is a $300 applied music fee for voice/instrumental
classes and individual lessons.
e.
There will also be a fee of $50 per semester for students
who use MSM practice studios.
