  • DENOMINATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

As Trinity is the official training college of the Anglican, Lutheran, Methodist and Presbyterian Churches in Singapore and Malaysia, denominationally approved or recommended students are normally given financial support by their own denomination or local churches.

The scholarship is supported by the Trust Fund set up by Mr Soon Boon Seng and his family in memory of his father for the training of candidates of the CAC, Methodist Church in Singapore who desire to be in full-time Christian ministry. The scholarship covers tuition, room and board.

Methodist students from Malaysia should contact the Chairman, Board of Ministry, for scholarships of their respective Conferences.

Students from Presbyterian churches may apply for Synod Scholarship. Application forms can be obtained from the Synod Office through our Presbytery Executive Secretaries namely Rev Timothy See for the English Presbytery and Preacher Kim Tan for the Chinese Presbytery. Applicants need to apply the Scholarship through and with the endorsement of their local churches. Further enquiries can be directed to the two Presbytery Executive Secretaries.

 

  • OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS

The College is also able to provide some financial support, in addition to the already subsidized tuition fees, to current students in need. Enquiries or applications should be made through the registrar's office.

The College also welcomes any contributions, scholarships or trust/memorial funds to enable deserving students to be trained for Christian ministry in Singapore, Malaysia and the region beyond.

TTC students and successful new applicants to TTC may apply for the following scholarships. Please write to the registrar for an application form.

1. Putra Masagung Scholarship for Master of Theology programme:
Note: Indonesian students in the Master of Theology programme may apply.
This scholarship consists of tuition, room and board.


2. Maria Dyer Scholarship
This scholarship will provide financial support for two female theological college students each year. This scholarship is offered bond-free; however, the scholarship applicants are expected to have some brief understanding of Maria Dyer and also the role played by other lady missionaries and church workers in the life (historical and current) of the Church. Students may apply for the scholarship through TTC. The scholarship award will be decided after an Interview Board from St John's Chapel has interviewed all the applicants in each given year.
Note: Singaporean women preparing for full-time ministry.
Selection preference: (1) Former students of St Margaret's School; (2) Members of the (Anglican) Diocese of Singapore except for members of St John's Chapel; (3) Christians from other traditions / denominations; (4) Favorable consideration will also be given to applicants who are preparing to serve overseas.
This scholarship is valued at $15,000 payable in quantum of $5,000 each year for three academic years. The yearly quantum will be paid in two installments each year. Continual award of the scholarship for the second and third academic year will be based on good performance and the recommendation of the applicant's home church and college.

3. The Brash Scholarships (TBS):
This scholarship was established by Murray Bruce Brash who was born in Eastbourne, England in 1913 and studied law at Cambridge. Thereafter he came to Singapore to work with Allen and Gledhill, a well known law firm and when the war broke out, he joined the Legal Branch of the Royal Air Force. After the war he resumed his partnership with Allen and Gledhill, retiring in1959. However he was soon persuaded to continue legal practice in a private capacity until 1978. He died on 24 August 1982.
His reasons for establishing a TRUST for scholarships were twofold
: (1) to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ; (2) to assist needy persons in their preparation for full-time Christian work/missions.
It was his greatest desire that through this Trust, men of sound character and academic quality will be prepared to occupy positions of leadership, ministry and mission outreach in the church of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Conditions: (1) applicants must be male Chinese citizens of Singapore or male Malaysian or Indonesian subjects; (2) applicants must be of an approved Protestant denomination or background; (3) applicants must be born-again Evangelicals of sound character; (4) applicants must be preparing for fulltime Christian work/ missionary service; and (5) applicants must be financially needy.

4.  United Bible Society (UBS) Scholarship (for Master of Theology in Biblical Exegesis and Translation):
Nomination process: Recommendations for suitable applicants for the MTh. programme should be submitted by the General/Executive Secretary of the applicant's national Bible Society (and supported by the UBS translation consultant serving in that country if applicable) to Dr Daud Soesilo ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ), and copied to Dr. Suee Yan Yu ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) by 31 December at the latest for the next academic year beginning in July. The recommendation should be accompanied by the applicant's CV, copies of academic transcripts and TOEFL result.
A limited number of scholarships may be available to successful applicants. The final decision regarding admission will be the responsibility of TTC.
