An essay "The Future of the Liturgy: A Pentecostal Contribution" in The Great Tradition--A Great Labor edited by Philip E. Harrold and D. H. Williams has been published by Wipf and Stock.

"Jesus as Spirit-Baptizer: Its Significance for Pentecostal Ecclesiology" in Toward a Pentecostal Ecclesiology: The Church and the Fivefold Gospel  (CPT Press, 2010). 

Published an essay titled "Spiritual Practices" in the Oxford Handbook of Evangelical Theology which has just been published by OUP.  

Engagements:
9-10 Jun 2011: Four talks on the theme: "Global Christianity: Conversations on the Church, Spirituality and Liturgy" at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC, USA 

14-15 Jun 2011: Presented eight lectures on "The Liturgy as the Epiphany of the Church" at the Robert Webber Institute of Worship Studies in Jacksonville, FL, USA   

Annual Nagaland-Assam mission:  A pastors' seminar on Worship at Clark Theological College, 25-27 Nov 2011. 

An intensive Th.M course "Readings in Karl Barth" at Eastern Theological College in Assam, 29 Nov to 3 Dec 2011.

He has presented three plenary addresses at the Anglican Provincial Gathering in Penang from 23-25 Feb 2011.


Dr Roland Chia 

Roland Chia has been invited by the United Nations Alliance of Civilisation (UNAoC) to participate in its media project, Global Experts, as a resource person.  

The UNAoC is an initiative of the former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, and the governments of Spain and Turkey. Established in 2005, the AoC aims to ‘improve understanding and cooperative relations among nations and peoples across cultures and religions, and to help counter the forces that fuel polarisation and extremism’. The role of the Global Experts resource person is to provide quick responses and analyses to journalists worldwide on political, social and religious issues and crises. 

In addition, Roland has also been invited to participate in a special media project involving 10 articles on the general theme, ‘Religion and Public Space’ that will be published in various newspapers worldwide. The articles will be written by experts around the world and will provide a platform for discussion. Roland has been invited to contribute an article. Roland was recommended to the UNAoC by The Straits Times.

Rev Canon Dr Michael Poon

  

Publications:
He published three edited volumes of essays in recent months: Christian Partnerships in Asia, Christian Movements in Southeast Asia, and Anglican Theological Education in South East Asia.  

Two major commissioned essays on "The Association for Theological Education in South East Asia, 1959-2002" and "The History and Development of Theological Education in South East Asia" are respectively published this year in Supporting Asian Christianity's Transition from Mission to Church (Eerdmans) and The Handbook of Theological Education in World Christianity (Regnum Press). 

An essay on Andrew Walls' legacy will be published in this year's Trinity Theological Journal. 

  

Engagements:

During his sabbatical from January to May 2011, he will be in Princeton Theological Seminary to complete a book on John Sung's legacy in Singapore, and working on the TTC Handbook on Popular Spiritual Movements in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

  

Appointment:

He was appointed by the Anglican Communion to be a member of the Anglican - Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC III) with effect from February 2011.  More details at

Rev Dr Jeffrey Truscott 

Publication:
A new book Worship: A Practical Guide is now available at TTC Reception, Level 2.

He contributed the article “A Promised Feast: For Children?” to the Lutheran Church of Singapore’s official policy document on the first communion of children. In May of 2010, he led a Bible study on 1 Corinthians 11.17-34 for LCS clergy which focused on the topic of ‘worthy communion.’ He was a member of the LCS First Communion for Children Working Committee since 2007, which was chaired by TTC alumnus Rev Fredric Lee (M Min 2006).

A paper presented at Societas Liturgica (international society of liturgical scholars) in Sydney (August 2009) was eventually published as "Chinese New Year and Lent: Reflections from the Perspective of the Lutheran World Federation Nairobi Statement on Worship and Culture." Australian Journal of Liturgy 11/4 (2009)
185-192.

He was invited to give a presentation on 'Baptismal Fonts in Singapore: Getting the Lion's Share', Societas Liturgica Congress XXIII, Rheims in France on 8 to 13 Aug 2011.
