Thinking Intentionally About Youth Ministry

Instructor: Rev Bernard Chao

Date: 22 September 10 November, 2010 (8 Wednesday Evenings)
Time: 7:30 pm
to 9:30 pm
Venue:  St. Andrew's Cathedral

Fees: $80.00 for new students; $60.00 for returning students (Free for TTC Alumni and TTC Full-Time Students - Registration Required)

Synopsis

This course is intended for both youth workers and lay persons who have been serving in the fast paced, ever changing,
never-a-dull-moment trenches of youth ministry, and desire to take a step back to reflect and think about the youth
ministry.

These sessions will provide opportunities to re-examine ministry among youths, paradigm shifting propositions to contrast
with our often un-articulated or uncertain theology or philosophy of why we do what we do, and offer each participant
practical handles and tools to grapple with youth ministry in our unique contexts.

Biodata

Rev Bernard Chao is pastor at Trinity Methodist Church and has 15 years of experience in active ministry with youth - as a pastor to youths and youth leaders, chaplain in a secondary school, full time youth worker, and as a Captain in the Boys Brigade ministry. He is passionate about training both lay and full time youth ministers for today and tomorrow, and speaks and teaches at youth meetings and camps. A former litigation lawyer, he is married to Ai Jin, a church counsellor, and has three children, Elijah, Emma and Ezrela.
