Table of Contents

East Asia today is marked with ethnic, religious, linguistic, political and economic diversities. Since the end of the Pacific War, new nation-states in the region are moving out of their colonial past. Not only are they reassessing their ties with the west, they also need to establish new ways of relating to one another. What are the particular challenges to and opportunities for Christian mission? How can Asian churches come together in mission?

The contributors of this volume of essays lead us on a journey in exploring the contours and frontiers in Christian mission today. These East Asian Christian theologians and church leaders are unique in one important respect. They are all former Langham Scholars who have benefited from the tutelage of the Rev. Dr John Stott. As they take up the responsibility to guard the Gospel, Paul's words to Timothy, 'But as for you (su de)', serve as a constant reminder of the distinct Christian calling. This volume of essays is their tribute to John Stott, the godly pastor, teacher, and friend who has continually upheld them in prayer.
