The Initiative is a joint venture between the Centre for the Study of Christianity in Asia, Trinity Theological College, and the four governing churches of the College, to promote the preservation of church archives. This project began in November 2004.

To serve this purpose, we work towards:

1. Develop a Singapore-Malaysia Church History Resource Centre (in TTC Library) on printed material and microfilms. In particular, we will work towards establishing our Resource Centre to become a depository of:

1. Historical documents
2. Writings and biographies of Christian leaders in Malaysia and Singapore;
3. Local church publications;
4. Research theses on Christianity in Asia, especially on those that shed light in the contribution of local Christians in the building up of churches.

2. Promote the preservation of church records among the four denominations of their work

3. Establish a database and digital image and document resources portal, to help churches in the region to locate Christian historical resources.

Current Projects:

1. Promotion of Oral History Projects among local churches.
2. Compilation of a consolidated inventory of printed material in churches and TTC.
3. Drafting of Guidelines and Assistance offered to churches for archives preservation.
4. Production of Electronic Resources.
